Emily has always had a love for children and has devoted her life to working with children. At a young age, she knew she wanted to become a teacher. She is a third-generation teacher following in her mother and grandmother's footsteps (Nancy Richards & Mattie Ruth McClure). As a life-long resident of Cherokee County, she graduated from Cherokee High School and continued her education at Reinhardt College and Kennesaw State University, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, Pre-K through 5th grade. She has experience as a teacher in both public, private and home settings. While being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years, Emily was Assistant Director and then Director of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Preschool, where her children attended. Emily homeschooled her children from 1998 - 2008.

Emily's husband, Jack, takes care of the school's administration needs. He has a degree in Architectural Engineering and worked 22 years in the engineering/construction business. Jack and Emily have 5 children and 7 grandchildren (currently). Nathan graduated from Tusculum College in Greenesboro, TN in December 2013 and now works as a teacher and football coach and wrestling coach at White County High School in Cleveland, GA. Calvin graduated from Creekview High School and completed four years with the United States Marine Corps. He currently is a construction manager for Justin Lane Construction. Jordan graduated from Sequoyah High School in 2015. Jordan is a crew supervisor for Miller Landscaping. Jackson graduated from Sequoyah High School in 2017 and is a coffee roaster for Fuel Coffee. Mary Fransis, our youngest and only daughter works for Page Relocation.
